Audrey Seaton, LLB (Hons)

Director

As a Blenheim lawyer, Audrey helps people at the big milestones in their life. This might be an exciting situation like buying a home or a business, or an emotional one involving a dispute over wills or estate property.

Audrey also helps to protect people’s interests through relationship agreements, shareholder agreements, lease agreements, family trusts, wills, powers of attorney and other legal documents.
The challenge is always to keep the legalities as simple as possible, whilst also protecting people’s interests and avoiding uncertainty in the future.

Relationships when one or both partners have children from previous relationships provide an example. Issues around wills, trusts and relationship property must be carefully considered to produce an outcome which reflects the intentions of that couple. However, the outcome must also (and very importantly!) be one which the couple can understand.

There are many other situations which need this same process of applying the law to the particular circumstances and finding the best solution.

Audrey’s career began in 1989 and she has worked in several regional law firms covering property law, family and relationship law, and commercial law.

Audrey moved to Blenheim in 2004 and became a partner at Townshend Seaton in 2006. When Andrew Townshend retired in 2011, Audrey joined forces with Wain & Naysmith Limited as a director.
Audrey is married with two sons and tries to stay active by running and getting into the outdoors as much as possible.
